Production Planner

PRODUCTION PLANNER

 

  • The Production Planner will be responsible for coordinating the fabrication of sub-assemblies and other various parts required for the manufacturing of our trailers.

  • By planning the production of these components, he/she will ensure that the necessary inventory is available according to the established production schedule.

  • In collaboration with the Purchasing/Procurement department and the V.P. of Operations, he/she organizes the progress of manufacturing projects according to schedules and expected production.

Tasks

  • Analyze parts and sub-assemblies requirements for production;

  • Coordinate the manufacturing of parts or sub-assemblies internally (externally if necessary);

  • Ensure the supply of materials, parts and equipment required for production at each stage of the production and repair schedule; 

  • Maintain the production schedule;

  • Generate reports on work progress, inventory, costs and production problems;

  • Monitor production to ensure goals are met;

  • Analyze production times to optimize costs;

  • Ensure inventory levels of sub-assemblies are optimal for planned production;

  • Manage the receipt and issue of parts and sub-assembly inventory;

  • Assist, communicate information and work as a team with the Vice President of Operations.

  • Innovate in the way of working to provide new solutions.

  • Demonstrate a high level of organization;

  • Strong attention to detail;

  • Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time;

  • Team player and good communicator;

  • Natural leader;

  • Resourceful and creative.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2 years experience in production planning (industrial - asset);

  • Good knowledge of procurement methods;

  • Good knowledge of ERP systems and MS Office suite (Excel, Word & Outlook);

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Project (asset);

  • Bilingualism, French and English, oral and written.
